Sens Experiment
Audiences were met with an intriguing sight—a box concealed by a black sheet, adorned with three enigmatic holes and a captivating screen. A captivating animated sequence invited the audience to place their hands inside the box before each sensory-engaging video commenced. Additionally, this Exhibition piece offered the opportunity for audiences to generate their own personalized ASMR sounds using built-in microphones within the black box, complemented by individual sets of headphones.
The objective of this exhibition piece was to elevate ASMR experiences by captivating multiple senses and evoking distinctive sensations. By seamlessly blending visual elements with tactile surprises, the aim was to elicit diverse reactions, foster curiosity, and intensify the overall sensory immersion. ‘“Vision may prompt us to make contact with an object or person but by touching we reinforce the subjective impact of that object or person”’ (Pye, 2016)
In addition to the multi-sensory experience, the exhibition centered around the overarching theme of “good vs evil.” The three distinct animations were meticulously crafted to embody this theme through the clever use of visual language and unexpected tactile surprises. Each animation presented contrasting elements that symbolized different aspects of good and evil. Through thoughtfully designed visuals, the exhibition aimed to provoke introspection and invite audiences to explore their own perceptions of morality. Moreover, the exhibition recognized that interpretations of good and evil vary greatly among individuals. Acknowledging this diversity, the animations were deliberately open-ended, allowing each viewer to experience and interpret the concept of good and evil in their own unique way. This approach fostered a sense of personal connection and engagement,
